The Blue Mountains Region is an area of outstanding natural beauty starting just 50km west of Sydney. The region is made up of several National Parks, the most prominent of which is the Blue Mountains National Park. At the heart of the National Park is the town of Katoomba where you can book tours of the parks and caves, or wander the town sampling the many bakeries, cafes and restaurants.

Katoomba is just 2 hours on a train from Sydney Central Station and costs just $12 for a one-way ticket. So you've no excuse not to come visit this area of outstanding natural beauty.

Kangaroo BakPak Katoomba is just a 10 minute walk downhill from Katoomba train station. Walk for another 15 minutes and you're at the famous Echo Point, which gives one of the best views over the Blue Mountains at Jamison Valley, including the Three Sisters. At Echo Point you can also start out on a few of the many beautiful scenic walks the Blue Mountains has to offer. Take a walk down the Giant Staircase to the bottom of the valley where you have the chance to see Koalas and Kangaroos in the wild.
